The dinner was exceptional from start to finish! Joanne's "4-course" meal was delicious... It was an extraordinary experience. – D. S.

Tall Ship The Sunroom

If you are like me, I research hundreds of properties before I find the one I end up booking. If you are still searching----STOP RIGHT NOW AND BOOK THE SEAWRIGHT.....WE LOVED IT HERE!!!!!!! As a B&B owner from Texas, we can be pretty pickey with our lodging accommodations. However, the Seawright met and exceeded them all. The linens were fabulous!!!!! The breakfast was wonderful and would have fed another 5 people besides the two of us and the total suite was huge. The view from the back deck is GRAND and the short drive to Portland is very scenic---so stop looking around and book this one right now before someone else gets it.

Its the absolute nicest place we have ever stayed in.  And you were so wonderful to us!!!!!

Thank you for everything. We had a wonderful time and will definately be back! Jenn

"You're place is fantastic! I still think about how much we enjoyed our stay with you."

Owning a business, especially in these tough economic times is difficult at best. All I needed was a place to "get away" and have some "me" time. I found this and so much more at the beautiful SeaWright House. I relaxed over a four day weekend, the first vacation in over four years, in complete luxury! I was the only guest and was treated like royalty from the moment I entered the serene setting. I chose not to have any concrete plans and on the advice of the locals and the wonderful chefs enjoyed visits to the nearby countrysides, an amish furniture store, farmer's market and even took pictures of the house featured in the "Twilight" movie! Melinda, the innkeeper was so gracious and keeps a meticulous enviroment. The thoughtful setting in the bathroom with all of her Holistic Skincare line and Sonic Brush for the clients use was something I've never experienced in a hotel accommodation. The massage, body wrap and facial with foot soak and even the spa Bath Ritual transported me into a realm of relaxation I haven't had in years. The gourmet food for breakfast and the food I chose from the chef's menu rivaled any restaurant and was so abundant that I had plenty for lunch and snacks the following day. I will definitely plan another get-away to this wonderful bed and breakfast. Thank you so much for making my stay memorable and relaxing. Victoria D. La Mesa, CA

The Gift Card arrived yesterday.  Just as you described it would look.  It’s beautiful! Thanks for your help and quick response.
Thanks

Thank you very much for a perfect weekend. I think this is the first time I've seen my husband enjoy just relaxing and not having to have a million things to do every day. Everything was perfect. The food was delicious...and the massages were the best ever. We would definitely like to come back again. You're inn is beautifully put together and hits on every creature comfort that we could think of and more. I will recommend your place to anyone wanting a perfect experience.

A friend and I came to Portland for a weekend of shopping and stayed
in the Seawright House Bed and Breakfast. The house was divine and we
were relaxed immediately upon entering our lush floor suite. The soothing music invited us in as we enjoyed complimentary champagne and chocolates to unwind. Our room was beautiful and the bathroom was a  spa experience in itself. We used the wonderful products and felt
rejuvenated. Our breakfast was remarkable! Delicious cuisine, gorgeous
decor, and an overall relaxing environment is what anyone can expect
from the Seawright House. My friend and I are planning another trip
this summer- I highly recommend it to anyone needing to get away and
feel pampered and relaxed into a state of total bliss.

"A Slice of Heaven in St. Helens, Oregon "

I heard of The Seawright House several months ago, and was interested in trying them out to see what they had to offer. I am a very busy local business woman. I don't have to even elaborate on how important r & r is for our weary crowd! I made my reservation and was very pleased at how accommodating they were.. I was able to check in 2 hours early, and was able to leave late! I entered the suite and it was as if I stepped into another world. As I moved through each room, I discovered wonderful things like soft terry cloth robes hanging in the gorgeous master bedroom.. I quickly found the Jacuzzi tub, and had a candle lit bath with a glass of chilled house champagne.. The bathroom is stocked full of wonderful beauty products. Later I was treated to a Swedish massage , and a fabulous four course dinner prepared by my own chefs. I spent time out on the beautiful illuminated deck over looking the Columbia River , clad in my soft terry cloth robe. We enjoyed the beautiful fish filled water fountain located off of the deck. The next morning we woke up to a wonderful breakfast. I can not say enough about The Sea wright House.. I have wanted to "move in" every time I have had the privilege of being their guest! I am going to be visiting again very soon. Michelle Gallien

Seawright House was everything I could have hoped for and more.  Relaxing on the private, heated back deck with cool breezes coming off the river and soft music playing in the background was soothing to my soul.  I was also luxuriously pampered with a European facial and Signature Massage followed by a soak in the Jacuzzi tub by candlelight.  Everything about the Seawright House says luxury, comfort and relaxation.  My stay left me refreshed and spoiled!

Finding Hints of France in Portland, Oregon

From Naomi Serviss, for About.com   http://gofrance.about.com/od/outsidefrance/a/french-portland.htm

Now, I need to inform you of one of the most unique and wonderful experiences I had at a bed and breakfast in St. Helens. Before I continue, I must confess that I am not a fan of morning chit-chat and I must have one cup of coffee before I can even face the mirror, let alone other people. So, when Lila told me about the Seawright House being a bed and breakfast, I was ready to say, 'Thanks, but no thanks.' (Hey, a Sarah Palin joke!)

But, boy was I wrong. This 'estate' is in view of Mt. St. Helens, the active volcano that spewed nasty lava and threatened townsfolk more than 20 years ago (not that I remember, I was only 10 at the time, cough, cough). Now it's a cool distant mountain visible in the town.

So what's so special about this bed and breakfast? Forget about any preconceptions you may have about a B&B. I know it totally spoiled me for any future visits to B&B's (not that I would purposefully plan one, unless it was just like this one).

Melinda Beville, owner of this gorgeous home (www.seawrighthouse.com) takes great pains to leave her guests alone, if they so desire. And each guest has the run of the first floor of the house! Which was so amazing, since every place you looked, there was another cozy couch on which to cuddle up with a book or glass of wine.

Established in 1910 (not by Melinda!) and beautifully restored (by Melinda!), you have your own private 1,700 sq. ft. 'suite' to play in. The guest suite includes a full kitchen with a little nook that faces Melinda's calming koi pond and a view of the Willamette River along with the docked boats. Heaven.

If that wasn't enough to win you over on B&B's, you also have a living room with fireplace, a formal dining room, master bedroom, Jacuzzi, a spa treatment room and a sun room. Did I mention her cool deck with privacy drapes? What a great place for a girls'-only party or a couples' night away or whatever! It's just wonderful.

All her food is catered by local chefs who use the freshest, regional fare and the result is mahvelous. A breakfast will await you upon arising and you will not see a soul, because the sneaky chefs quietly use access from the kitchen to prepare your food choice, and then'disappear! Poof! You don't have to show your morning face until you want to'perfect!

And thoughtful Melinda prepares her coffee maker, so all you need to do is turn it on when you arise. No specific time ' you're on 'your' time and it is respected. And if you fall asleep after a healing massage and happen to sleep through a scheduled pedicure, you are not even punished! The king bed is so inviting, and that massage was so perfect, that I think the day just caught up with me and'.zzzzzzz.

If you are lucky enough to spend time with Melinda, you will be in good company and definitely in good hands. As mentioned, spa treatments can be arranged and her specialty facials are fun and refreshing.

Plus, she has her own holistic beauty line, Skin Holistic, which incorporates only pure ingredients. It doesn't hurt to have a research scientist in her family, to make sure she's always doing the best scientific research on her products. And she does--her dad!

Definitely check out her products, just for the ingredients alone'your skin deserves it. And make a reservation fast. She doesn't open her house all the time and it is very popular during holiday seasons.
